Cute Human Soap Dispensers

Published by Rachel under Home Gadgets Edit This

My son’s bathroom has a cartoon character container for a soap dispenser. Now that he’s outgrown that, I’m thinking of getting him new ones. All I have are containers with flowers on it…. which doesn’t suit him, of course.

But these soap dispensers should fit right in:

Human Soap Dispensers

It’s the kind of design his age would appreciate because it borders between cute and creepy. I’m sure he and his friends would have tons of laughs about this. I like it personally because of the muted cool colors (black, grey and blue), one that is right up in style and designs meant for tweener boys.

Liquid soap dispensers are kinda girly girly, but even boys have to learn to wash their hands appropriately, so this one will do.

It’s $7.99 at Perpetual Kid

Colorful iPhone Coasters

iphone drink coasters

How cool are these iPhone coasters?

These are available from  Meninos,  a site run by Brazilian designers who also customize hard drives. So cool are these coasters that it’s been sold out for the holidays! Guess a lot of people thought this would make a great gift, especially to those who are addicted to the iPhone.

The coasters measure 85mm square and is constructed using MDF plywood and vinyl. Varnish is applied to protect the design and under the coaster, rubber layers are in place to keep it from slipping.

A set of this will set you back at $60.

These are unlicensed Apple products, I assume.

Asus’ Bamboo Laptop

Bamboo Laptop

Asus, the computer company that makes plenty of computer hardwares, has recently launched their very first bamboo laptop line early December. It was featured at Taiwan’s IT Month Exhibition. Considered just a prototype, the laptop has now been entered into production.

This laptop’s shell is made from real bamboo, which is a renewable raw material. The bamboo laptop is part of Asus’ thrust in making products from such.

When it is ready for sale, the laptop will retail for $1800 US.

I wonder how they addressed heating issues, especially since this is wood and thus burns easily. My laptop is made of aluminum (I suppose) and the heat coming from it is too much, I sometimes have to put mine against a fan.

Walkstation: The Treadmill/Desk

Published by Rachel under Home Gadgets Edit This

walkstation.jpg I’ve got a confession to make — I gained three pounds over the holidays. Working on the desk all day long doesn’t really help. My body needs the exercise and I have been finding ways to lose the pounds even while I’m sitting down. Obviously, I haven’t had any luck.

As crazy as this looks, I do think I need a work desk like this. Because I never have the time to go to the gym, the only time I can stay fit is while I’m also working. Multi-tasking at its best!

The treadmill workdesk is from Steelcase, an office furniture maker based in the US. They call this the Walkstation and you basically get the idea how it works just by looking at the photo. Only, this gear costs about $5,000.

Well, alright…maybe big companies can afford it. But it’s not so feasible for work at home moms such as myself.

I guess I’d have to lose weight the normal method.

Wear Bear Gloves This Cold Holiday Season

Published by Rachel under Misc Edit This

Remember my post about this USB heated sleepers ? I just found its match, something you can use for your hands this time —

Bear Gloves

Because it’s becoming colder and colder indoors, my hands sometimes end up freezing that I have to shake and do finger exercises every now and then. What someone like me needs are a pair of gloves. But using one I already have, a fully covered glove, will make touching the keyboard difficult.

This bear gloves gives wiggle room for the fingers, but at the same time, it keeps the hands warm.

This cute little thing is only available in Japan though, via Thanko, which explains the goofy design. (But hey — if it’s just something to use at home, does the design even matter?).

Have a Happy PACMAN Christmas!

Published by Rachel under Gaming Edit This

Pacman Christmas Tree

I’d like to wish everyone a very happy Christmas! I hope you are all enjoying the celebration with our friends and families.

This Christmas tree is found lighting up the streets somewhere in Spain and was created by very enthusiastic PACMAN fans. This tree is done mostly in LED lights. It is amazing to watch as PACMAN does animatedly move around to gobble up the pellets, the stars and the trees or avoid his enemies. This looks pretty cool to any fan of ultimate video game of the 80’s. It would have been cooler if they let people play it, no? There will probably be a long line of interested people who’d be willing to try it.

Microwave Plays A Christmas Song

Published by Rachel under Home Gadgets Edit This

How amazing is this?

A group of people placed some forty-nine microwaves together, turned them on, with their timer bells going off strategically and with precision, to play a very familiar Christmas music.

Watch this video and be entertained:

Bag TV: TV Everywhere in a Stylish Bag

Published by Rachel under Fashion, Home Gadgets Edit This

Bag TV

The Bag TV is a bag and a TV appliance rolled into one.

It has a built in screen which measures about 7”, big enough to get comfortable while watching a show on your bag. It operates using batteries that last for two and a half hours. The Bag TV is also DVD and mp3 capable. There is an SD slot somewhere, where you can play your stored media.

The bag comes in seven different colors for a trendier look. It may be purchased for £295  or about $438 at its official site .

I would love for nothing more than to be able to watch TV anywhere I am. But really, the purpose of going out is to do other things for entertainment than watching television right?
