On the Oprah’s show the other day, she declared that the Amazon Kindle was one of her newest favorite things. The gadget is an e-reader which you use to read online versions or e-book versions of printed materials. From what I’ve read before, it wasn’t exactly selling like hotcakes. But a version 2 is coming out soon and it will come with better features. Which is why they need to dispose of the original version before that comes out.
But if you aren’t in keen on getting the upcoming version, you can purchase the Kindle anytime until November 1st, and avail of the special $50 off, by using entering the code which Oprah announced on her show. Type OPRAHWINFREY at the check out and you get the discount from what is originally $359.00.
Me? I’m still reading everything on print. Never really got into the e-reader bandwagon yet. But eventually, we all will.

Well this sets me back in time again; back to the good old days when playing video games wasn’t as stressful but still addicting.
These shot glasses not only remind me of my youth. The set makes a good display item at home, too, don’t you think? I mean, if you grew up in the 80’s, who among your friends won’t remember these characters — Blinky, Pinky, Inky, Pokey, Bonus Cherries (Bonus Cherries!!!)?
It should also make a good gift to someone you know whose old enough to drink scotch and remember the good ol’ times with Pacman.
The Pacman Shotglass is an exclusive Club Namco release. It’s so exclusive in fact, there are only 2500 items for sale.

Well, is this not the sexiest geeky Halloween costume ever?

I wouldn’t personally be able to pull this off. Something about parading on the streets in skimpy clothes — that’s not the kind of thing I do. Also, I do not have that kind of body for that kind of outfit.
But if you are daring enough to wear this, imagine how many treats you’re going to get on Halloween. Most Pacman obsessed fanboys are probably in their 30s and 40s by now. They’re the daddies handing out the treats to kids. Would they be surprised if you come ringing their door bell dressed as sexy Ms Pacman!

You know you’re such an Apple fangirl if you purchase even this imitation “iPhone” for your pet dogs.
HauteDiggity sells this for a really affordable $11.95. But of course this isn’t really a mobile gadget for dog. It doesn’t even have the right features (duh). It’s a regular stuffed toy, doggies can chew and slab at.
But you have to give the company credit for the style and design. It looks exaclty like an iPhone. (in which case, style and design goes to them, haha!). Does this make it ripe for lawsuits…that is, if Apple do set their sights on it? Or will Apple let this go…I mean what’s a few $11something profit here and there, can it hurt the company?
Would you buy one of this for your pooches?

We waste gallons of water while washing dishes, don’t we? We have this habit of letting the water run as we wash the pile. And with heated water sources, we double wastage during colder months, as hot water is used up more than what is required. We may also waste on soap or cleaning detergent, as measuring the amount we use is quite a chore.
There must be a more efficient way of doing this, a way to minimize all of the wastes. This design idea by Toby Fox should hopefully help solve the problem.

With its tank filled and stored with water, dish washing is less wasteful. The unit will then suck up water, as opposed to letting it run on the tap, and more importantly, it will suck up heated water. Liquid soap may be dispensed on the handle by pushing buttons, so you can control the amount used; while a second button takes care of the rinsing.

Are you geek for CSI or any cop show in general? You must be familiar of that yellow thing that says “Crime Scene Do Not Cross”; you see that a lot right? Fancy wearing that sign around your neck?

This may sound like a really geeky idea but I don’t know…for some reason I think it’s cool to own one of this.
With autumn and winter coming, the breeze outside is getting colder. Scarfs are a necessity and this one does its use well. Its 5 feet of knitted scarf to keep you cozy and warm…and also indicate to everyone how much a crime drama geek you are. Which isn’t so bad because like I said, I think the scarf is cool!

As a woman, would you be offended if someone gifted you with this? I wouldn’t. I’d think of the gesture as really funny.
But then again, this bear swears like there’s no tomorrow. It has a filthy mouth even when it’s looking all kinds of cute with its pink color and yellow bow. Just look at her eyes!
The PMS bear mimic’s a woman’s mood swings during that crucial that time of the month. And that’s not entirely false — us ladies do get grumpy when we’re having it, right? So it’s not like it’s not true.
Coming in November, the PMS bear is priced at $29.99 via this site .

When left unused for a very long time, dust gathers on my husband’s desktop computer. His keyboards have their protective covers on them all the time, but it never occurred to me to cover the monitor. Like television screens, monitors are usually left bare. Or at least that’s what I thought.
Until I saw this one at Geeksugar, whose idea came from Martha Stewart. She calls it the TV Cozy and provides a step by step guide to how to sew it.
Granted, I’m no whiz at sewing, the instructions though seems simple enough, I can probably have someone else do it for me.
The TV Cozy is a great idea. Although it reminds me of when my grandmother used to cover our big ass black and white TV set back in those days. You ever had one of those TV’s with curtains on them?

Eye wear isn’t just a necessary accessory. Today, they’ve become the staples for fashion and style too. To gadget geeks used to wearing eyeglasses, a stylish eye wear definitely does great improvement in the looks department. But then, a person only needs one pair of glasses. This isn’t like clothes which have to be changed everyday.

The RbG Rainbow Glasses is a design idea which helps geeks look very chic. The frame is made of plastic…and this may be filled with water-based ink.
Say if you want to wear red today, you can color coordinate your glasses with it by adding red ink. And then you can change to blue or yellow, or to any color you want, just be filling and refilling the frames everyday. You can also leave it empty, for a clear neutral look.
This idea won the Opus Award at a design contest. It came from Luís Porém of Portugal.

Do you Twitter? I guess you do, that thing/site/whatever is everywhere. I have an account myself but I haven’t gotten the hang of using it. It’s sort of this microblogging tool where you get to post updates of what you’ve been doing for the day and then your friends and the rest of the world will get to “follow” you. I’m not really a “chat room” kinda gal and that’s partly what Twitter is like. Except you get chat with everyone following.
Early this year, a marriage proposal took place on Twitter and believe it or not, it wasn’t the first one.

For a few weeks before that, a couple has said they were engaged via the social networking site.
Is a Twittered proposal romantic? I love how technology makes our lives easier. And I wish the couple a happy married life. But there are some things I feel use of technology shouldn’t take over. Because what’s next then? Someone asking for divorce via Twitter?
