Cellphones for 6 to 9 year old girls
These cutesy cellphones are specifically made for younger girls, not pre-teeners nor teenage ladies:

They’re manufactured in Japan, from a company called Bandai. The gadget is called the SmartBerry and it can send emails, business cards and text messages — all basic features of a cellphone. Its exteriors are cutesy alright. But the digital display is still in monochrome, much like the gadgets of the 90’s. I guess they didn’t want this one to be too fancy, huh?
And I’m not sure if this is available in North America. But if it is, would you be getting one for your six year old?
While I don’t believe girls as young as six should be allowed to carry their own cellphone, it’s not the same for some parents. But with technology advancing so fast, I’m sure that there will come a time when we’ll wake up to a world where babies know how to operate gadgets as a necessity and not a luxury.
