Which Laptop Tray is Better?

I know most work-at-home freelancers start off working from the bed, to eventually get themselves a tiny home-office. I, however, have been stuck with working on the bed forever. I love working this way. My back doesn’t hurt and I can snooze off at anytime.

But when you’re sitting or lounging on the bed for more than six hours with the laptop on top of you, your lap goes numb, weary and hot. So, I’ve been meaning to get myself a laptop tray. Unfortunately, the ones I found were not up to my taste. The thing is — I still don’t know what I want. But the ones I did find aren’t exactly bad. In fact, they are more than functional.

What do you think of these? Which one do you prefer better?

Manila Macbook Air Sleeve

Inside this brown Manila envelope is a MacBook Air, the thinnest laptop computer Apple has released last year. So, this is actually a laptop sleeve made just for it.

Manila Macbook Air Sleeve

The insides of this sleeve, aptly called Airmail, is lined with fleece, while the “envelope” itself is made of vinyl. Sealing the sleeve is one read button and a string. At $34+ it really does look like those mailing envelopes…so close that one may mistake it for actual mail. Imagine the horror of discovering that your precious MacBook Air has been sent to the Post Office along with your bills and correspondence!

The idea for AirMail came out merely days before MacBook Air was launched. And simple as it may look, apparently, the AirMail is a bit hit, what with all the raves its been getting from other sites.

Water Bottle Crunchers for Pets

Published by Rachel under Uncategorized Edit This

Water Bottle Crunchers for Dogs I don’t know what it is with water bottles, but I do find my dogs having fun with it. I think it’s the crunching sound and the crunchy bite that draws them, like toddlers drawn to Elmo.

So dog lovers, check this out!

Fat Cat has made these “satisfying crunch toys” for your pooches. Designed colorfully as caricatures of a caterpillar and a snake, the toy will set you back $21.95 a pair. It’s made of canvass though, so the toy will last longer than one bite or crunching and it is actually refillable. Bottles of up to 20 oz in size can easily fit into this.

Download Movies & TV Shows on the PS3

Published by Rachel under Gaming, Misc Edit This

Sony PS3Ooh, I’m such a geek when it comes to movies and television shows so this is such a welcome news!

Sony is going to offer video downloads for the PS3, speculated to launch this summer. Details are still sketchy, but what is quite certain is that the feature will first be introduced in the United States, with Japan and Europe following the same route by the end of the year.

How is this going to work on the game console? The Gate reports that video downloading “will be more of a rental model like Microsoft’s Xbox Live Video Marketplace with HD movies costing $6 and standard definition films for $4″.

It also isn’t clear what type of TV shows will be listed but I’m pretty sure movies distributed by Sony Pictures will be part of the download list. Dare I say, we should be able to download teasers and trailers, as well.

With this latest development, Sony is indeed intent on making the Playstation the ultimate entertainment center for the household.

Surprises from the SomethingStore.Com

Published by Rachel under Cool Sites Edit This

Surprise gifts thrill me and I think for most people, they feel the same way. The anticipation…the excitement of unwrapping and discovering what is inside the box….it’s fun, isn’t it? And that’s what Something Store is all about, which I think is a fantastic concept — You shop for an item online, but you won’t have any idea what it is until the box arrives at your doorstep! Seriously!

Something Store Website

Every item is valued at $10.00, whatever it is. US residents pay nothing for shipping but those outside will easily see the actual cost plus shipping as soon as you check out for your surprise gift.

Is it a waste of money? Well, you be the judge. Here’s a list of items the Something Store has already sent out:

Memory Foam Slip
Deluxe Spa Set
Corduroy Handbag
Pashmina Scarf
RC Speedboat
Laptop Bag
Chocolate Basket
Magic Bullet Blender
$25 Amazon GiftCard
Nikon Coolpix L11
iPod Shuffle

So, are you ready to claim your special something?

The website says this though:

Your something will most likely be brand new, though it may also be refurbished or antique.

You may also check what others have to say first, before claiming your own surprise gifts.

The kind of wedding cake for internet couples

Published by Rachel under Misc Edit This

Internet Wedding Cake

If you spot a wedding cake like this, it’s easy to tell what kind of romance the couple share. It screams — INTERNET DATING COUPLE, down to the Starbucks coffee. That, too, is edible cakey goodness. It’s digital love defined on a wedding cake! The Ethernet cable is made of candy sweet frosting. Notice how the cords form into a heart shape? Aaawww, right?

The cake is done so well and so beautifully, I don’t think anyone would want to slice and have a piece of it.

Congratulations to the couple! This is one internet love story with a sweet, happy ending.

Monopoly with Credit Cards

Published by Rachel under Misc Edit This

I know everyone has had a chance to play Monopoly in their childhood. To this day, it remains a favorite board game, even among adults.

The Monopoly has always been able to keep up with the trends and changes in society. It has spawned video and computer games and the old school board game is now out with different editions, there is something for every type of aspiring tycoon.

A tip from reader Chris led me to the Monopoly Electronic Banking Edition.

Monopoly with Credit Cards

Wheel and deal your way to a fortune even faster using debit cards instead of cash! All it takes is a card swipe for money to change hands. Now you can collect rent, buy properties and pay fines - with the touch of a button!

The tokens have also been updated to include: a Segway personal transporter, an Altoids tin, space shuttle, flat-screen TV, baseball cap and a dog in handbag.

This is why this board game is still a favorite after all these years!

Paul Frank Italian Julius iPhone Case

Paul Frank iphone CaseThis Paul Frank iPhone case carries a very familiar design. It is patterned after famous Italian brand, Gucci. The exterior, however isn’t made of pure leather, but vinyl. Even so, the iPhone case is still definitely chic, classy and trendy. The inside is embossed with microfiber lining with a secure velcro flap.

Features:
* Custom fit for iPhone
* Removable wrist strap
* Soft microfiber lining
* Flap closure secured with velcro

If this one’s too posh and sophisticated, Paul Frank also has another design, Racing Julius , which I think is more for the casual type of iPhone users.

Both cases are sold for $34.95 each at the Apple Store.

Colored Toilet Papers

Published by Rachel under Misc Edit This

Fancy colored toilet papers? I know, I know… this isn’t technically a “techy gadget” but I just can’t help but share this here. I mean… colored toilet papers!!! Once upon a time the toilet paper was considered as a great invention. Finding them in color? Well, I feel like I’ve just discovered fire.

colored toilet papers

I know that it will look really pretty in the bathroom. I find the colors really wonderful and so much in vogue that I think these would be nice as a housewarming gift.

And I don’t think I could every allow anyone to waste it. But what do you really do with toilet papers but throw it away after using?

Made from tisĂș paper, these are available from a site called Renova.

Print your own photos instantly!

Canon SELPHY CP770

This is the latest from Canon’s Selphy line of photo printers. The company is always aiming to make taking photos and storing photos more accessible to consumers. This may look like a lunch kit your kindergarten kids bring to school. But that’s the idea. The Canon Selphy CP770 is contained in a really handy pack because it’s one light, portable and durable gadget you can bring anywhere.

If you’re out on a barbecue picnic this summer or on the beach with family, having this around allows you to print photos right away…. even without the computer’s help! The Canon Selphy CP770 has a memory card slot you can insert into and allows you to preview the photos before you press print.

The actual printer is actually the top half of the bucket. The bottom half is for storage of your paper and other photo supply.

I think this one’s a must have for kids parties — easily provide a souvenir for other parents and guests!
